ABOUT THE WORK

The Living Bronze is a portrait of radiant physical power — intimate, unflinching, and unapologetically sensual. The subject stands in full view, not merely nude, but fully present: his posture both statuesque and provocative, his gaze direct, challenging, and entirely self-possessed. The image captures a moment suspended between control and surrender, where erotic charge becomes its own kind of poise.

The raised arm — with the hand disappearing behind the head — introduces a visual ambiguity that borders on abstraction. At first glance, it distorts the silhouette, inviting a momentary double-take. But far from detracting, this subtle rupture draws us deeper into the image, engaging the viewer in an act of perceptual completion. It’s a quiet disruption of classical symmetry that transforms the body into both sculpture and riddle.

There is no attempt here to soften or obscure the body’s inherent sexuality. Instead, it is confronted with candour and artistic clarity — rendering flesh not as object, but as presence.
