ABOUT THE WORK

A study in poise, form, and classical seduction, The Renaissance Lover evokes the quiet grandeur of Old Master portraiture while shimmering with contemporary sensuality. The figure—caught in a moment of inward contemplation—leans gently into the frame, his downward gaze and delicately curled fist suggesting a thought withheld, a memory recalled, or a desire unresolved.

Rendered in rich tones that echo the palette of Titian and Caravaggio, the portrait balances restraint and exposure with painterly precision. The model’s softly flexed musculature, the subtle flare of his ribcage, and the glow along the crest of his shoulder all speak to a body deeply present but unperformed—erotic, yes, but never ostentatious.
