The earliest photographic body of work in the archive. Produced between 2002 and 2007 under the pseudonym Dylan Ricci, these photographs are now presented under Schooneman’s own name, restoring them to the broader chronology of the artist’s practice. These photographs approach the male figure as form rather than biography. Identity recedes. Light, structure, and composition come forward. Where the later photographs turn toward the individual, these works remain deliberately anonymous, drawing on the traditions of classical statuary and early art photography.
