ABOUT THE WORK
Created in Bangkok between 2002 and 2007 under the pseudonym Dylan Ricci, these photographs marked my first sustained immersion into the male nude. The models were young Thai athletes who asked for their anonymity to be preserved; their faces were never shown. What emerged were sculptural studies of the body — faceless, timeless, elemental. Flesh became marble. Muscle became architecture. Light and shadow became the language of beauty.
For more than two decades these works circulated under another name, published in anthologies, exhibited abroad, and collected by figures such as Pierre Borhan, the French photography historian whose eye helped define the canon of the male nude. Some of the photographs appear here exactly as they did then; others have been carefully reworked for this 2025 edition, while a number have never before been published. For the first time, they are revealed openly under my own name.
